Jennifer Tsurumoto Named Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week

IRVINE, Calif. --- Senior guard Jennifer Tsurumoto had one of the best weeks in Anteater women's basketball history which was enough to make her the Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week.

Tsurumoto had one of the most dominate weeks in Anteaters history becoming the only Anteater player to post back-to-back 30-point performances, recording a career-high 30 in UCI's loss to Long Beach State then poured in 31 points in a victory over UC Riverside last week.

For the week, the senior shot 54% from the floor, 96% from the line and 60% from three-point distance. She also averaged four assists, three rebounds and two steals over two games.

The last time an Anteater posted two 30-point games in the same season dates back to 2009-10 when Jade Smith-Williams and Mikah Maly-Karros recorded the feat. Kassandra McCallister recorded the last 30-point game on Feb. 18, 2012.

Tsurumoto also had her streak of consecutive free throws snapped at 28 against UC Riverside Saturday.

The 'Eaters are currently 8-8 and 1-1 in conference play. UCI hosts Cal State Fullerton Thurs. Jan. 16 at 7:00 p.m.
