'Eaters Complete Pac-12 Sweep

Box Score

EUGENE, Ore. --- UC Irvine jumped back to the .500-mark with a 2-1 victory Sunday afternoon marching right into Eugene and overtaking the Oregon Ducks.

UCI, who improved its record to 3-3, wasted no time with a third-minute goal from Jenna Pellegrino who put away a cross from Clarissa Robles to give UCI the early lead.

Both teams launched attacks throughout the match as Jenn Randazzo had a spectacular performance as she stopped eight shots. She was peppered in 2012 having to stop seven shots against the Ducks in a one-goal loss.

Oregon (2-4-0) raced back late with an 88th-minute score to tighten the match up. A scramble in the box put away by Bri Pugh gave the Ducks some late life, but UCI had extended the lead just minutes earlier.

Zoya Farzaneh actually came away with the game-winner in the 75th minute as her shot from the top of the box stuck inside the top of the goal, and UCI was able to avenge its 2012 loss.

UCI completes the Oregon road trip with a sweep, and now ventures to BYU for a Saturday night match on Sept. 14.
