'Eaters Overpower MIT in Season Opener

 

PROVIDENCE, R.I. --- Senior All-American Mitch Wise scored five goals as ninth-ranked UC Irvine opened its 2013 schedule with a 19-2 win over MIT in the Bruno Fall Classic at Providence, R.I., Saturday morning.

Wise scored two goals in the first quarter, two in the third and one in the fourth. 

Bojan Hrlec added three goals while Chris Swieca, Pablo Carballo and Kyle Kittlitz scored a pair apiece. 

Ten different players scored for the 'Eaters, who led 10-1 at halftime.

Dylan Hallman and Kale Rogers scored goals for the Engineers.

UCI faces 10th-ranked St. Francis Brooklyn later today at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center at Brown University.
