SEASIDE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team is tied for 11th place following the first day of action Monday in the Saint Mary's Invitational at Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Courses.
UCI and Loyola Marymount each shot 36-hole totals of 600 to tie for 11th. California leads the 19-team tournament with a 6-under 570, Saint Mary's is second at 588 while San Francisco and St. John's are tied for third at 589.
Cal's Michael Weaver and San Diego's Grant Forrest are tied for the individual lead with 4-under totals of 140 after two rounds.
UCI junior Pete Fernandez is in 15th place at 147 (76-71), sophomore Jacob Schulze is 23rd at 148 (73-75) and senior Allan Jun is in 49th at 152 (72-80).
Junior Bhuvan Potluri is in 77th place at 155 (82-73) and senior Travis Russell is 96th at 160 (81-79).
The final 18 holes are scheduled for Tuesday.
