UCI's Riley Martin Earns Big West Weekly Award

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine sophomore Riley Martin has been named Big West Conference Athlete of the Week in men's cross country.
Martin placed second of 102 competitors in the Anteaters' season-opening adidas/UCI Invitational last Saturday at the Anteater Recreation Center Fields.
Martin covered the 8,000-meter course with a time of 25:28.1 to help the 'Eaters to a runner-up team finish.
He was conference champion in the 1500 meters at last May's Big West Track & Field Championships.
UCI returns to action Sept. 21 at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego.
