THIS WEEK
● UC Irvine, after opening the season with a 4-0 record at Brown University's Bruno Fall Classic last weekend, competes in the Inland Empire Classic Saturday and Sunday.
● Coach Marc Hunt's 'Eaters face La Verne (9:00 a.m.) and California Baptist (12:45 p.m.) on Saturday at the La Verne Aquatic Center.
● On Sunday, UCI meets Occidental (10:15 a.m.) and Pomona-Pitzer (1:15 p.m.) at the Thompson Aquatic Center in Redlands.
LAST WEEKEND
● The 'Eaters opened the 2013 season at the Bruno Fall Classic in Providence, R.I., winning all four of its games.
● UCI defeated MIT, 19-2, and 10th-ranked St. Francis Brooklyn, 13-7, last Saturday.
● On Sunday, the 'Eaters topped the 16th-ranked and host Brown Bears, 14-7, and closed out the weekend with an 18-9 victory over Harvard.
STATS LEADERS
● Senior driver Mitch Wise, a two-time All-American, led UCI with 14 goals last weekend. He scored five goals each in the wins over MIT and Harvard. Wise has 176 goals in his 'Eater career.
● Senior Bojan Hrlec, an honorable mention All-American last season, scored nine goals in Rhode Island, including four versus Brown.
● Freshman Kyle Trush notched eight goals, including a hat trick each against St. Francis Brooklyn and Brown.
● Sophomore Jared Osborn scored seven goals on the weekend, including four in the victory over St. Francis Brooklyn.
● Sophomore Tyler Mancuso had six goals, including three apiece against Brown and Harvard.
● Sophomore Larson Pfeil added five goals, including three versus Harvard.
● Senior goalkeeper Alex Kazmier had 36 saves in three games, including 16 stops in the win over St. Francis Brooklyn.
● Junior goalie Michael Bailey recorded 18 saves in two games with a high of 11 in the victory over Brown.
LOOKING AHEAD
● UCI travels to Chapman Sept. 18 for a 4:00 p.m. game against the Panthers.
● The 'Eaters journey to Berkeley Sept. 21-22 for the NorCal Tournament.
