OFF THE TEE
UC Irvine senior Michelle Park and freshman Luciane Lee will compete at the NCAA West Regional Thursday-Saturday (May 9-11) at the Stanford Golf Course.
The Anteater duo will start at 8:25 a.m. on Thursday and Saturday and at 12:45 p.m. Friday. The tandem will begin the tournament playing with A Ram Choi from Portland.
The Stanford Golf Course plays at Par 72-6,267 yards.The Anteaters are two of six individuals competing at the West Regional.
The low two individuals, not part of the top six teams, will advance to the finals at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Georgia, with the University of Georgia as the host on May 21-24, 2013.
Park and Lee join Stella Lee (2003) and Angela Won (2004)as the only Anteaters to participate in a West Regional.
Park leads the team in scoring average with a 75.33 mark, followed by Lee at 76.05.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
Michelle Park and Luciane Lee were named to the All-Big West first team, while junior Ronnie Valerio was a honorable mention choice.
Head coach Julie Brooks garnered 2013 Big West Women's Golf Co-Coach of the Year honors.
The Anteaters never finished lower than sixth this season, including recording three Top-3 finishes.
The Anteaters placed second at the UC Irvine Invitational presented by Kia and third at the Big West Championships and Long Beach State Gold Rush.
