MORALES NAMED ESPN ZONE ANAHEIM ANTEATER OF THE WEEK
Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine men's baseball player Andrew Morales has been named this week's ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week.
The junior right-hander from Covina, once again dominated hitters on Sunday. He tossed 8.1 shutout innings in a 1-0 win at Pacific. Morales finished the game striking out eight, one shy of his career-high, and extended his scoreless streak, which is now at 22.2 consecutive scoreless innings. He has also pitched in four combined shutouts this season and was voted the Big West Pitcher of the Week for a second time this season. For the season he is now 9-0 with a 1.34 ERA and has struck out 50 batters in 60.1 innings.
The Anteaters travel to San Diego State Tues. Apr. 23, before welcoming UC Davis to Anteater Ballpark for a three game series beginning on Friday Apr. 26. First pitch for Friday is 6:30 p.m., followed by 1:00 p.m. starts on Saturday and Sunday
