OFF THE TEE
UC Irvine opens the 2013 spring campaign competing in the The Gold Rush presented by Farmers Insurance on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 11-12) at the Yorba Linda Country Club.
The 54-hole tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. both days.
Live scoring of all three rounds of tournament will be provided on Golfstat.com.
Yorba Linda Country Club plays at par-72, 6,077-yards.
The tournament field includes BYU, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Gonzaga, Nevada, Portland State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, Washington State and host Forty-Niners.
The Anteater team will consist of Ronnie Valerio, Michelle Park, Sara Banke, Luciane Lee and Taryn Yee. Brenna Carlson will play as an individual.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
In the fall, the Anteaters had its best performance at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitaional, placing fourth and beating three ranked teams.
UCI also placed fifth twice and sixth once in the fall.
Senior Michelle Park leads the team in scoring average with a 74.22 mark. She had two Top 10 finishes in the fall, including a second place showing at the Edean Ihlanfeldt.
Everyone on the roster played in at least one tournament in the fall with Michelle Park and Michelle Yang playing in all three invitationals.
UCI will host the UC Invitational presented by Kia on Feb. 25-26 the Santa Ana Country Club.
The winner of the UC Irvine Invitational presented by Kia will receive a sponsor exemption in to the Kia Classic March 18-24 at Aviara Golf Club.
