IRVINE, Calif. --- The Anteaters gutted out a tough win over conference foe, ninth-ranked Hawai'I, 10-9, Sunday afternoon at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
The 'Eaters and Wahine traded leads throughout. The score was deadlocked after the first and second periods. Cambria Shockley took over with two of her three goals in the third period.
Hawai'I held a 9-8 edge heading to the final quarter, but UCI (9-6) and the defense rose up to shutout Hawai'I in the final quarter while Hannah Croghan notched the game-winner with under two minutes to go.
Jillian Yocum added her input with eight saves.
The Anteaters finish 2-2 at their own invite. Their next stop is conference play with a March 2nd date at San Diego State at 12:00 p.m.
