IRVINE, Calif. --- Kyle Trush, a standout player from Corona del Mar High School, has signed a national letter of intent with the UC Irvine men's water polo program, announced by Anteater head coach Marc Hunt.
As a senior for the Sea Kings this past season, Trush was named third team All-American, first team All-CIF Southern Section and team MVP.
"We are extremely pleased to sign Corona del Mar High School MVP, Kyle Trush, to our 2013 roster," Hunt said. "Kyle's experience with the USA National Junior Team, as well as his tireless work ethic, will serve to have immediate impact for the Anteaters.
"Kyle's a tough, physical player who will help strengthen our 2-meter defending position. This is a great addition for UCI Water Polo!," Hunt added.
At CdM, Trush played on a CIF championship team in 2010, a CIF runner-up squad in 2011, and three Pacific Coast League championship teams (2010, 2011 and 2012).
An honor roll student, Trush earned scholar-athlete awards at CDM each of his years in high school.
