UC Irvine continues its nine-game road trip heading to Denver Thursday (Nov. 21) for a 6:00 p.m. PST game at Magness Arena then on to Idaho Saturday (Nov. 23) for a 2:00 p.m. contest at Memorial Gym.

Denver won the only meeting between the two schools, 62-52 last year at the Bren.

The Pioneers drained nine three-pointers in the victory a year ago. UC Irvine was paced by Jennifer Tsurumoto with 10 points and five rebounds, while Denver's Morgan Van Riper-Rose hit five threes and led all players with 21 points.

Denver is 1-2 overall, picking up a 72-64 victory over Air Force last week.  

Over the last seven years both UCI and Denver have finished in the Top 10 of the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA non-football) All-Sports rankings. UCI captured the title in 2007 with Denver earning the top spot five times. Last year, UCI was eighth with the Pioneers coming in first. The Directors Cup ranks schools according to its overall success in post-season play across all sports for the year.

Idaho holds a 12-7 advantage in the series record over UC Irvine.

The Vandals knocked down 12 three-pointers, including seven in the second half, to help Idaho defeat the Anteaters, 73-55 last year in Irvine.

Idaho made 26 baskets on 71 attempts (36.6%) and shot 48.4 percent (12-36) from long distance. The Vandals committed just seven turnovers and out-rebounded UCI, 48-35.

Idaho was a member of the Big West from 1996-05.

Alyssa Charlston was named Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after
averaging 16.5 points and 11.0 rebounds over two games last week.

The Anteaters have started the year 2-1 overall for the first time since the 2002-03 season when the club
began the year with a 5-1 record.

Last week, UCI dropped a 76-59 decision to Pepperdine on Thursday then defeated Nevada 86-72. on Sunday.

Guard Jennifer Tsurumoto led UCI with 14 points in 26 minutes of playing time versus the Waves and matched Mokun Fajemisin for a team-high 19 points against the Wolf Pack.

Camille Buckley took over in the second half at Nevada, recording 15 points and 11 rebounds in the final 20 minutes. She ended the game with 17 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.

Senior guard Vanessa Aguilar bettered her career-high again with 13 points, hitting three three-pointers versus Nevada. Aguilar has recorded 29 points over the first three games after scoring 43 in 16 games a year ago.

The Anteaters hit seven three-pointers in each game last week.

UCI leads the Big West in field goal percentage defense at .351 (67-191)and blocked shots at 4.67 per outing. The Anteaters rank second in scoring (71.0), free throw percentage (.746), three-point field goal percentage (.308) and assist/turnover margin (0.91).

Jennifer Tsurumoto leads the team and is ranked ninth among Big West players with a 14.7 scoring average.

Camille Buckley is one of only two Big West players to average a double-double with  a 13.7 points and 10.0 rebounds average.

UCI will play 11 of its 14 non-conference games on the road. The Anteaters don't return to the Bren until Dec. 18 when the take on New Mexico State.

The game against Cal State Northridge on Feb. 22 will be carried by ESPN3.
