Breslin Scores 'Eaters' Third Straight Honor

IRVINE, Calif. --- Goalkeeper Michael Breslin became the fourth Anteater to win Big West Player of the Week in the last three weeks after a pair of wins to help claim the Big West South division title.
The redshirt sophomore stopped four first-half shots at UC Riverside and added two in the final minutes against No. 20 CSUN to preserve 2-1 victories. Breslin took down seven shots total giving him 51 on the season and now stands second with 38 saves in conference matches.
Breslin joins Marco Franco as Anteaters who have earned defensive honors, and is now one of five Anteaters to take home a Big West award this season.
The conference shutout leader will look to guide the top-seeded Anteaters into the Big West Tournament this week. After earning a first round bye, UCI will host the Big West semifinal, Fri. Nov. 15, at 7:00 p.m. against the winner of the UC Riverside-UC Davis match.
