SACRAMENTO, Calif. --- Junior Alex Tebbe led the UC Irvine men's cross country team at the NCAA Inter-Regional Jamboree in Sacramento Friday.
Tebbe toured the 8,000-meter course with a time of 24:40 to finish 31st of 134 runners at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex.
Riley Martin finished 48th in 25:01, Nolan Del Valle was 56th in 25:05, Amir Shirif 80th in 25:36 and Tommy Newton-Neal 81st in 25:37.
Blake Wanser placed 96th (25:53) and Conor Stanton 102nd (26:02) to complete the Anteater lineup.
Rajpaul Pannu of Saint Mary's was the individual champion with a time of 23:28 and UCLA won the team competition with 54 points. UCI placed eighth with 247 points.
The 'Eaters compete in the Vanguard Invitational Oct. 12 at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.
