HEADERS
- The Anteaters have allowed 51 shots on goal, lowest in the Big West and two fewer than the next school (53 - UC Santa Barbara).
- UCI has trailed twice at halftime this season with a 1-0-1 record in those matches.
- The 'Eaters are unbeaten (7-0-2) when scoring a goal in the second half.
- Michael Breslin leads all Big West keepers with five overall shutouts and 23 saves in conference play.
- Cameron Iwasa's game-winning goal in the seventh minute Friday night against Cal Poly was the 1,000th UC Irvine goal in the history of Anteater Stadium. Together, Anteater soccer has scored 1,827 total goals, 945 from the men's program.
FREE KICKS
- The Anteaters were 1-6 vs. ranked opponents in 2012. UCI is currently 2-0 against ranked schools in 2013.
- This season marks the sixth time in the last seven years UCI as collected five or more non-conference wins.
- The 'Eaters' RPI currently stands are 66th in that nation. They are 3-2 against schools in the top-75 and no losses to schools higher than 88 RPI.
- UCI is 9-12-1 in regular season conference matches at Anteater Stadium since 2009.
CORNERS
- The 'Eaters bring back 10 starters from the 2012 squad including preseason award-winners Cameron Iwasa and Marco Franco.
- UCI has seven players over the 1,000-minute mark, keeper Michael Breslin is the lone 'Eater to play all 1,228.
- Enrique Cardenas converted two penalty kicks vs. No. 11 UCLA. UCI has converted six of its last seven PK tries dating back to 2009.
- UCI men's soccer's win over Marist stretched its streak to ten season openers with a win and is unbeaten in 13 straight season openers (11-0-2).
- Michael Breslin has eight career shutouts, seventh-most in program history.
- Enrique Cardenas currently has a three-match point streak. He accounts for the three of the last four streaks of this length dating back to 2011.
- UCI's win over No. 11 UCLA was the 250th in the history of the program.
- UCI has won three consecutive matches against ranked opponents: 3-1 over No. 11 UCLA, 1-0 over No. 16 Louisville, and 1-0 win over No. 21 CSUN to end the 2012 season.
- No. 11 UCLA was the 12th top-20 opponent UCI has defeated in program history.
- Cameron Iwasa scored his fifth career game-winning goal tying him for 10th in program history with four other Anteaters.
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- UCI is 15-7-3 all-time vs. UCR. The 'Eaters did have a seven match win streak, but the Highlanders have taken three of the last four matches.
- UC Riverside is 6-5-3 this season, winless on the road (0-3-2). The Highlanders are 1-3-1 on the year with a win over Sac State and draw with CSUN.
- UCR is 2-1-1 against common UCI opponents with wins over Iona and Marist, a loss to UCLA, and a draw with CSU Bakersfield.
- Romario Lomeli and Aaron Long have three goals each to lead the squad. Five different players have two assists and six have a game-winning goal.
- KC John has played 10 of 14 matches in 2013 with a 5-3-2 record, four shutouts, and 36 saves.
- UCR is near the middle of the conference in every statistical category. It ranks first in shutouts (6), second in yellow cards (30), and last in corner kicks (60).
NORTHRIDGE NOTES
- The Anteaters are 16-19-5 all-time against the Matadors, an even 9-9-1 at CSUN. UCI defeated CSUN to round out the season with the Matadors ranked 21st.
- CSUN is 11-2-1 this season ranked sixth in the nation. The Matadors are 3-1-1 in conference with a loss to UCSB and draw with UCR.
- Each of the Matadors' losses have come at home including to its one UCI common opponent, UCLA.
- Sagi Lev-Ari leads the team and conference again with 11 goals and four game-winners.
- Brian Behrad has three game-winners of his six goals.
- CSUN has accumulated 44 assists on its 32 scores.
- Sophomore Adam Hobbs has started all 14 matches allowing 13 goals and stopping 47 shots.
SOCCER AT THE NEXT LEVEL
- Brad Evans has earned a spot on the U.S. National squad this year. He has made 11 total appearances including three World Cup qualifiers in 2013. He scored his first international goal in a WCQ against Jamaica, a game-winner in stoppage time.
- Evans is also a member of the Seattle Sounders FC. He has played in 20 matches this season scoring three goals and assisting on five. Evans ranks in the top five in all major Sounders career categories.
- Amani Walker and Andrew Fontein are teammates on the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League. Walker has two goals, one game-winner, and two assists in nine matches. Fontein has 14 saves in three starts.
- Fontein was a part of the 2012 NASL Championship squad that defeated Walker and Miguel Ibarra.
- Ibarra is a member of the Minnesota United FC. In 17 matches, Ibarra has one goal, two assists, and played over 1,300 minutes.
