UC Irvine Places 6th in Riverside

 

RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine women's cross country team finished sixth in the Highlander Invitational at Riverside Saturday.

UCI totaled 134 points as Wyoming was team champion with 54. UC Riverside was second with 64 points.

Junior Kaycee Holcomb led the Anteaters with a 15th-place finish of 18:07.2 over 5,000 meters at the UCR Agricultural Operations Course. Senior Carlotta Pham was 17th in 18:12.6 as UC Riverside's Raquel Hefflin won the race with a time of 17:09.5.

UCI's Makenna McGrann placed 36th in 18:40.4, Hannah Ruby was 38th in 18:45.3 and Katie Kass 40th in 18:47.9.

Alice Yang finished 47th in 19:09.2 and Marthie Ponty was 48th in 19:10.4 to complete UCI's top seven.

The Anteaters compete in the Titan Invitational Friday with the women's 5,000-meter race beginning at 4:45 p.m. on the Cal State Fullerton campus.
