Fifth-Ranked 'Eaters Overpower UC Davis at SoCal Tournament

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --- Fifth-ranked UC Irvine scored six straight goals to open the game in cruising to a 13-7 win over No. 12 UC Davis in the SoCal Tournament at Dos Pueblos High School in Santa Barbara Saturday.
With the victory, the 'Eaters (11-1) will meet No. 4 California at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, also at Dos Pueblos High.
Alan Robertson, Jacob Mourer, Mitch Wise, Pablo Carballo, Bojan Hrlec and Kyle Kittlitz scored the consecutive goals for UCI in the first quarter.
Hrlec led the 'Eaters with three goals while Nick Pfeil and Winston Newland added two apiece. Alex Kazmier had 12 saves in goal.
