QUICK STRIDES
● UC Irvine, which has been idle from competition since hosting the adidas/UCI Invitational Sept. 8, returns to action in the Stanford Invitational Saturday.
● The UCI lineup for Stanford is slated to be Sam Hyams, Riley Martin, Steven Melena, Rex Nelson, Tommy Newton-Neal, Nick Osborne, Amir Shirif, Andrew Snyder and Alex Tebbe.
● Calvin Tan is expected to be the lone UCI representative on the men's side at Pomona-Pitzer.
● Senior Rex Nelson was named Big West Conference Athlete of the Week in men's cross country earlier in September following his performance at the adidas/UCI Invitational where he finished second of 229 runners.
● Vince O'Boyle is in his 31st season as head coach of the UCI cross country teams. He has been named Big West Coach of the Year 19 times in cross country.
ON THE HORIZON
● The 'Eaters compete in the UCSD Triton Classic in La Jolla Oct. 6.
