Bojan Hrlec Named ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week

Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine men's water polo player Bojan Hrlec has been named this week's ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week.
The junior driver from Rijeka, Croatia was a key player in this past weekend's Northern California Tournament at Stanford. Hrlec scored with 29 seconds remaining in overtime to lift sixth-ranked UC Irvine past No. 5 UC Santa Barbara, 12-11. Hrlec's goal, his team leading fourth of the game, capped a back-and-forth battle between the two rivals. Just before scoring the winning in the first three-minute extra period Hrlec answered with 53 ticks left to knot the score at 11-11, setting up his game-winner in the second three-minute extra period.
Currently, Hrlec is tied with the most goals on the season with his teammate Mitch Wise with 32 goals. UCI returns to action Sept. 29-30 in the SoCal Tournament at Santa Barbara.
