Taryn Yee Leads UC Irvine After The First 36 Holes At The WSU Cougar Cup

Pullman, Wash. -- The UC Irvine women's golf team opened the 2012-13 season with a two-round total of 598 at the WSU Cougar Cup held at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course.

The Anteaters are in fifth place after the first 36 holes, shooting a 302 on the first round and a 296 on the second 18 holes Monday. California leads the 14-team field with a five-over par 581 (290-291). The final round will be played tomorrow beginning with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m.

Junior Taryn Yee paced the Anteaters with a score of 147 (73-74) and sits in a tie for ninth place heading into the final day. Freshman Luciane Le is tied for 20th in her collegiate debut with a score of 150 (76-74). Sophomore Michelle Yang (76-75) and junior Sara Banke (77-74) are tied for 24th at 151, while senior Michelle Park is tied for 36th with a two-round total of 154 (80-74).
