Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine men's track runner Charles Jock has been named this week's ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week. 

Jock has secured himself a ticket to the NCAA Championships in the 800 meters after his strong performance this past weekend at the NCAA West Preliminary Round. The two-time All-American had a time of 1:47.93 in his heat on Friday, qualifying for the NCAAs in Des Moines, Iowa. The senior starts his quest for an NCAA title in the semi-finals on June 6.

For the third consecutive season, Jock has been named the Big West Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Year. In addition, he was recently honored at the 42nd annual Lauds & Laurels ceremony as UCI's Outstanding Student-Athlete.
