IRVINE, Calif. --- Senior Brennen Halliday's fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase led UC Irvine Friday in the Spring Break Invitational at Anteater Stadium.
Halliday ran a season-best time of 9:21.36 in the 15-runner field.
Freshman Alex Tebbe placed ninth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:23.38 while Trevor Lawrence was 16th in the hammer throw at 129-4.
Action begins in the field Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the first track event at 12:00 p.m.
