SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- UCI struggled against another top-25 school in a 6-1 loss to No. 26 Harvard in the Hilton Mission Valley Spring Classic in San Diego, Calif.

Sam Gould (Hamilton, New Zealand / St. Kentigren College Prep) had success with Jacob Jung (Upland / Options for Youth HS) in doubles taking their set, 8-2, however, the Crimson would ultimately take the doubles point.

Gould and Jung each battle through singles with Gould going to a third set in his loss while Jung had twin 7-5 sets.

Jon Kazarian (Rancho Palos Verdes / Peninsula) gave UCI (1-12, 0-1) its only point with a big singles win in the No. 4 slot.

UC Irvine stays in San Diego for the the rest of the weekend finishing out the Hilton Mission Valley Spring Classic Fri. Mar. 16th against Marquette at 10:00 a.m. followed by Purdue at 2:00 p.m. on the campus of San Diego State.
