NO. 2 UC IRVINE TRAVELS TO HAWAII: No. 2 UC Irvine will battle No. 12 Hawaii on Friday (Feb. 10) at 9:00 p.m. PT then again on Sunday (Feb. 12) at 7:00 p.m. PT

VERSUS HAWAII: Hawaii holds a 29-12 series record over UCI. The Anteaters have won the last three meetings, including a 3-0 sweep (28-26, 30-28, 25-21) in the quarterfinals of the MPSF Championship last year in Irvine. UCI hit .505 (54-6-95) in the last meeting.

No. 12 Hawaii is 6-5 overall and 1-3 in the MPSF. The Warriors are coming off two victories at Pacific last week and have won four straight matches.

BACK IN ACTION: UCI takes on Hawaii after taking 13 days off. UCI's last match was a 3-1 victory over USC on Jan. 27 in Irvine.

UCI REMAINS AT NO. 2 IN THE COUNTRY: UC Irvine remained at No. 2 in this week's AVCA Coaches Poll.  The Anteaters have been ranked in the nation's top 15 for 106 consecutive weeks.

UCI moved up to No. 2 in the lastest Asiscs/Volleyball Magazine poll.

LOOKING AHEAD: Following the two matches in Hawaii, UCI returns home to four straight matches. The homestand starts with Stanford on Feb. 17 and Pacific on Feb. 18. The Anteaters then entertain Cal State Northridge on Feb. 22 and Long Beach State on Feb. 24.

After the Long Beach match, UCI will go on the road for six consecutive matches.

STREAKING: UCI is currently riding a three match winning streak. The Anteaters had a season best four straight wins to open the year.

MPSF STATS: UCI leads the MPSF in service aces with a 1.86 average. The Anteaters are fourth in hitting percentage (.353) and kills (13.17). The Anteaters are averaging 2.05 aces in MPSF matches only where they also top the league.

Carson Clark ranks second in aces (0.48), ninth in points (4.34) and kills (3.58). Clark leads the league in aces in MPSF matches only with a 0.67 mark.

Jeremy Dejno is third in aces (0.46), 11th in points (3.99) and 13th in kills (3.31). Daniel Stork is ninth in set assists (11.69).

Three UCI middle blockers are ranked in hitting percentage with Scott Kevorken ranking sixth (.456), Austin D'Amore is 11th (.433) and Dan McDonnell is 13th (.423).  In MPSF matches-only, D'Amore leads the league in hitting percentage (.586), while Kevorken is third (.545), Kevin Tillie is seventh (.464) and McDonnell is 11th (426).

PLAYING IN FRONT OF A CROWD: UCI is averaging 1,509 fans per match at home this year and have played in front of 2,000 or more fans on three occasions.

SERVING BULLETS: UCI is averaging 1.9 aces per set this season. The Anteaters have had more aces than the opponent in seven matches and have tied in the other two.

UCI had a season-high 14 service aces against BYU on Jan. 14.

Sophomore Jeremy Dejno leads the squad with 16 followed by Carson Clark with 15. Clark became UCI's career leader earlier this season and currently has 137 all-time.

OUI TILLIE: Junior outside hitter Kevin Tillie made his first two starts against Pepperdine and USC and ended up being named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division I-II National Player of the Week on Jan. 30.

Over his first two starts, Tillie hit .528 and averaged 3.88 kills, 4.19 points, 1.00 digs. The junior committed just three attack errors over eight sets. On the year, the France native has played in four matches and is averaging 3.31 kills and 3.65 points.

CLARK; DEJNO JOIN TILLIE IN OFFENSIVE ATTACK:  UCI has several offensive weapons led by senior All-American Carson Clark who is averaging 3.58 kills, 4.34 points, 0.48 aces and 1.74 digs. Jeremy Dejno is tied with Tillie in kills per set at 3.31 and also averages 3.99 points and 0.46 aces.

LAST TIME OUT: In the last match, UCI defeated then-No. 5 USC, 3-1 on January 27 in the Bren Center.

Against the Trojans, outside hitter Kevin Tillie put away a career-high 18 kills and hit .567 (18-1-30) from the outside. Carson Clark recorded 10 kills, four aces and tied his season-high with five block assists. Dan McDonnell added five block assists, six kills and three aces.
