February 14, 2012 | Women's Cross Country
IRVINE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine women's cross country squad has received All-Academic Team recognition by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2011 season.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, the school must have had at least five student-athletes compete at the 2011 NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative grade-point average.
UCI finished 23rd at the NCAA West Regional last November.
This is the fifth straight year that the Coach Vince O'Boyle's Anteater women's cross country program has earned the national All-Academic honor.
