IRVINE, Calif. --- Junior Mitch Wise tied his career high with six goals, but ninth-ranked UC Irvine fell to No. 7 Pacific, 14-12, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game at Anteater Aquatics Complex Friday night.

The Tigers (10-7, 1-2 MSPF) exploded for seven goals in the second quarter to help dampen Senior Night in the 'Eaters' home finale.  UCI seniors Kyle Adama, Winston Newland, Brian Pickford and Nick Pfeil were recognized prior to the game.

Blake Terry added a hat trick for UCI, which fell to 14-9 overall and 0-6 in the league.

Alex Obert and Balazs Erdelyi led Pacific with four goals apiece.

UCI led 2-1 after one quarter on goals by Jacob Mourer and Wise.

Erdelyi scored three of his goals in the second period and Aleksandar Petrovic put the Tigers ahead for good at 7-6 on a goal with 47 seconds left in the first half.

A goal by Obert with 4:28 left in the third quarter gave Pacific an 11-7 lead, but Wise answered with back-to-back goals, pulling the 'Eaters within 11-9 with 56 seconds remaining in the period before Obert scored 14 seconds later to extend the lead to three.

Wise opened the scoring in the fourth quarter at the 6:35 mark to again draw UCI with two at 12-10, Obert responded at 4:24 on a power play, and Wise countered with his own power-play goal at 3:46 to make it 13-11.

Sean Grady scored Pacific's final goal with 2:47 left in the game for a 14-11 margin before Wise closed out the scoring with five seconds left.

The 'Eaters travel to UC San Diego next Thursday night for a non-conference game against the Tritons.
