● Coach Marc Hunt's UC Irvine squad hosts top-ranked USC Thursday night at 7:00 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation contest.
● The 'Eaters travel to fourth-ranked Stanford Saturday for an MPSF game at noon.
QUICK HITS
● UCI's MPSF game at UCLA Nov. 18 has a new start time of 10:30 a.m. and will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
● UCI has dropped its first two MPSF games this season, 10-6 at Pepperdine and 13-7 at home to UC Santa Barbara.
● Junior Bojan Hrlec leads UCI with 52 goals and he ranks fifth in the MPSF with an average of 2.74 goals per game.
● Junior Mitch Wise, who has scored 47 goals on the season, ranks sixth in the MPSF at 2.47 goals per game.
● Senior Nick Pfeil has scored 26 goals this season with a high of four in the Sept. 1 win over Redlands. He ranks 21st in the MPSF at 1.37 goals per game.
● Sophomore Jacob Mourer has 24 goals, with a high of four in the season-opening victory over Chapman Sept. 1. He is 24th in the MPSF with an average of 1.26 goals per contest.
● Senior Winston Newland has scored 20 goals this year, including hat tricks in wins over Pacific and Occidental.
● Sophomore Alan Robertson also has a pair of hat tricks this season and has scored 19 goals.
● Redshirt freshman Chris Swieca has scored 18 goals this season with a high of three in the win over Cal Lutheran at the Gary Troyer Tournament.
● Junior goalie Alex Kazmier has 126 saves this season with a high of 17 in the Sept. 16 overtime win over UC Santa Barbara in the fifth-place game of the NorCal Tournament. He ranks fifth in the MPSF with an average of 10.18 saves per game.
● Redshirt sophomore goalie Dylan Peterson has recorded 47 saves this season.
● Sophomore Michael Bailey has 23 saves in seven appearances this season.
● UCI and USC have met once before this season with the Trojans winning 10-5 at the SoCal Tournament in Santa Barbara Sept. 30.
● Saturday will be the first meeting of the season between the 'Eaters and Cardinal.
ON THE HORIZON
● UCI, after Saturday's game at Stanford, returns to the Anteater Aquatics Complex to face California next Thursday (Nov. 1) and Pacific next Friday (Nov. 2) in MPSF games at 7:00 p.m. The Pacific game is the season's home finale.
