UCI Falls at UC Riverside 4-1

IRVINE, Calif. --- The Anteaters fell Wednesday night 4-1 at UC Riverside.
UCR (9-5-0, 2-4-0), who led 1-0 at the half, opened up a big lead with a pair of goals a couple minutes apart.
UC Irvine (4-10-1, 1-5-0) got back into with a goal by Pavle Atanackovic in the 73rd minute off a nifty cross from Cameron Iwasa.
However, a Marco Franco red card minutes later would hinder UCI's chances. UCR would capitalize soon after to finish the match with the 4-1 win.
Atanackovic's goal was his fourth of the season and second in as many games. Michael Breslin withstood a Highlander barrage stopping six shots.
UCI continues Big West action on Saturday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m. As Cal State Northridge visits Anteater Stadium.
