IRVINE, Calif. --- Sixth-ranked UC Irvine has a busy schedule this week with five games, beginning Thursday (Sept. 8) night at home against California Baptist at 7:00.

Coach Marc Hunt's squad hosts UC Santa Barbara (12:00 p.m.) and Chapman (4:00 p.m.) Saturday before participating in the Inland Empire Classic at Redlands Sunday, facing Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 9:15 a.m. and Vanguard at 1:00 p.m. 

LAST WEEK:  The 'Eaters (2-0) opened the season with wins of 28-8 over Fresno Pacific and 20-2 against Redlands in the UCI Invitational this past weekend.  Redshirt sophomore Mitch Wise (Beaverton, Ore./Southridge HS) led the team with 10 goals in the two wins, including a career-high six in Sunday's victory over Redlands.

TEAM LEADERS:  Following Wise in the scoring column is senior Trent Baxter (Fresno/Clovis West HS), who scored nine goals in the two tourney wins.

Scoring four goals each were senior Sam Figueroa (Santa Cruz/Salinas), junior Winston Newland (San Luis Obispo/Golden West College), and redshirt freshmen Alan Robertson (Danville/Monte Vista HS), Jacob Mourer (San Clemente HS) and Kyle Kittlitz (Clovis/Buchanan HS).

IN GOAL:  Sophomore Alex Kazmier (Visalia/El Diamante HS) started both weekend wins in goal, recording 11 saves.

Redshirt freshman Michael Bailey (Huntington Beach HS) played the second halves of both games and had 16 stops.

FREE ADMISSION AT HOME THIS SEASON:  Admission is free to all UCI home men's water polo games this season.
