Ibarra Invited to MLS Player Combine

IRVINE, Calif. --- Senior midfielder Miguel Ibarra (Lancaster / Taft College) was one of 52 seniors invited to take part in the adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine from January 6-10 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He will attempt to show MLS coaches and scouts that he has what it takes to succeed in the pro ranks.
He will be joined by players from 31 Division I schools and an additional 14 players from other NCAA divisions and international players to be named later. Included in the group are four other players from three other Big West schools. You can view the release and entire list of participants here.
The adidas MLS Player Combine will feature coaches and technical staffs from all 19 MLS clubs, including 2012 expansion side Montreal Impact, who will be in attendance to scout the top talent at the 17th annual player combine. The combine will be simulcast on mlssoccer.com for viewers to watch.
The MLS SuperDraft will take place on January 12th, 2012 televised on ESPN2 which is two rounds. A supplemental draft will take place January 17 that will be four rounds.
Early mock drafts do have another Anteater, keeper Andrew Fontein (Las Vegas, Nev. / Sierra Vista HS), projecting to go in the second round. Ibarra also showed up on mlssoccer.com's list of top-25 prospects.
Both players along with the rest of the 'Eaters await their fates as the draft approaches.
