IBARRA NAMED ESPN ZONE ANAHEIM ANTEATER OF THE WEEK
Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine men's soccer player Miguel Ibarra has been named this week's ESPN Zone Anaheim Anteater of the Week.
The senior attacker from Lancaster was named the Most Valuable Player of the Big West Tournament last Saturday night after he scored the game-winning goal in the 105th minute of double overtime. In addition to MVP, Ibarra was named Big West Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year after accumulating eight goals, eight assists, and four game- winning goals.
Ibarra was also selected, for the second time in his career, as a forward on the All-Big West First Team, and was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com's and College Soccer News' Teams of the Week.
Ibarra and The Anteaters will begin NCAA Tournament play this Sunday, November 20th at 6:00 p.m. at Anteater Stadium against the winner of the CSU Bakersfield-Saint Mary's game.
