'Black & Blue' Thursday Night as 'Eaters Host 49ers

'EATERS AT HOME FOR NEXT THREE:  UC Irvine (13-9, 1-4 MPSF) opens a three-game homestand beginning with Long Beach State Thursday night at 7:00 in an MPSF, "Black & Blue" Rivalry game.

Coach Marc Hunt's UCI squad hosts Stanford Sunday at 12 noon and faces UC San Diego in the home finale Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m.

The 'Eaters end their regular-season schedule traveling to UC Santa Barbara Nov. 12 for an MPSF contest at 12:00 p.m.

UCI SPLITS:  The 'Eaters picked up their first MPSF win of the season in a 10-9 victory at Pacific last Saturday as Jacob Mourer scored a career-high three goals.  Trent Baxter and Mitch Wise added two each.

UCI lost at California, 14-6, on Sunday.  Sam Figueroa had a hat trick for the 'Eaters.

UCI'S SCORING LEADERS:  Sophomore Mitch Wise leads UCI in scoring with 59 goals and he ranks second in the MPSF at 2.68 goals per game.

Senior Trent Baxter has scored 37 goals, junior Nick Pfeil 34, senior Max Parrague 24 and redshirt freshman Jacob Mourer 23. 

Senior Sam Figueroa has 21 goals, redshirt freshman Alan Robertson 18 goals, junior Brian Pickford has 13, junior Winston Newland 11 and redshirt freshman Kyle Kittlitz has 10 goals to complete UCI's double-digit scorers.

IN GOAL:   Redshirt freshman Michael Bailey has 79 saves and ranks first in the MPSF at 10.53 saves per game.  Junior Jimmy Friedrich has 87 saves and sophomore Alex Kazmier 54.
