Camille Maron is Top UCI Runner at Triton Classic

 

Final Results

LA JOLLA, Calif. --- Redshirt freshman Camille Maron led UC Irvine at Saturday's UCSD Triton Classic in La Jolla.

Maron finished 20th of 120 runners with a time of 23:51.2 over the 6,000-meter course on the UC San Diego campus. 

Breanne Strenkowski, running unattached, won the race in 21:18.1.

UCI's Emma Archuleta placed 27th in 24:06.4, Jewelz Andrews was 35th (24:19.2), Rosa Serna 40th (24:25.7) and Gabbi White 44th (24:28.2).

Carolin Haney finished 54th with a time of 24:48.3, Lauren Hall was 59th (24:55.1), Ikeoluwa Adesina 66th (25:11.3), Chelsea Schneider 77th (25:25.8), Courtney Wilson 86th (25:50.9), Nicole Kent 88th (25:57.1), Maddy Post 94th (26:15.2), Ella Yuen 97th (26:17.5) and Ava Nelson 111th (27:32.4).

UCI finished sixth in the 13-team event with 151 points.  UC San Diego won the meet with 38 points, Central Arizona was second with 120 and San Diego State third with 124.

UC Irvine competes at the Cal State Northridge Invitational next Saturday on the Matadors' campus with the women's 6,000 meters beginning at 8:00 a.m.
