UC Irvine Places Third at Cal State Northridge Invitational

 

Final Women's Results

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- UC Irvine finished third in the Cal State Northridge Invitational Saturday as Melissa Mead was the top Anteater individual.

Mead covered the 6,000-meter campus course with a time of 22:06.93 to finish sixth of 121 runners.  UCI's Kaycee Holcomb was ninth in 22:19.88 and Chloe Fata 10th in 22:21.12.

Maggie Newton-Neal placed 40th in 23:15.87, Marthie Ponty was 43rd (23:18.31), Maggie McDuffee 49th (23:31.13) and Nicole Mendoza 53rd (23:38.32) to complete the Anteaters' top seven.

UC Santa Barbara won the meet with 72 points, USC was second with 75 and UCI third with 92.

Lauren Petersen of UNLV was the individual champion with a time of 21:54.16.
