Megan Benson enters her first year as a volunteer assistant at UC Irvine.
Benson graduated from UCI with a bachelor’s degree in criminology, law and society in 2016. She was a four-year letterwinner on the track & field team, competing in the hurdles and sprints.
Benson earned All-Big West honors as a freshman, finishing second in the 100H with a personal-record 13.86 at the conference championships. That mark still stands as the fifth-fastest in program history. Benson was also a Big West qualifier in the 100H as a sophomore and senior.
During the indoor season, Benson ran the 60m, 200m, 60m hurdles and relays. She registered a lifetime-best 8.77 in the 60H at the 2014 MPSF Championships.
Benson prepped at Corona del Sol High School in Tempe, Ariz., where she was a four-time state finalist and scholar-athlete. She was also a member of the soccer team that advanced to the state finals three times.
