River Davis, a six-foot attacker from Ojai, California, joins UCI after earning First Team All-County honors at Buena High School. Water polo runs in the family, as his father, Tom Davis, competed for the 'Eaters from 1994-97 and was named an All-American in 1997. River also holds Buena's 4x100 swim school record. Davis ranks second among the newcomers so far this season with eight points on six goals and two assists. He scored his first collegiate goal against George Washington on Aug. 28 before adding his second goal and first assist against Concordia the following day for his first multi-point game. Davis became UCI's first freshman this season to record a hat trick, accomplishing the feat against Cal Lutheran on Sept. 4.
