
Haily Huynh Receives Big West Service and Leadership Award

IRVINE, Calif. – Haily Huynh of UC Irvine women's tennis has been named a 2026 recipient of The Big West's annual Service and Leadership Award.
Huynh has been an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during her collegiate career, most recently serving as president in 2025-26. In her role this year, Huynh provided leadership for fellow student-athletes on campus and organized several community service initiatives including a canned food drive that collected more than 1,000 donations for the UCI Basic Needs Center. She also led SAAC's partnership with the UC Irvine Police Department to deliver and distribute toys to local children's hospitals. Huynh was previously the recipient of the 2025 UC Irvine Leadership Award for her contributions to the UCI Athletics Referendum Campaign.
On the court, Huynh finished her career ranked 28th in program history with 40 dual-match singles wins. In her second year as team captain, Huynh led the 2026 Anteaters to 12 dual victories, including ranked conference wins over No. 64 Hawai'i and No. 73 Cal Poly. Academically, Huynh is a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and CSC Academic All-District selection. She has also earned Big West All-Academic, Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll, and Dean's List recognition. Huynh recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminology, law & society.
The Big West has celebrated student-athletes for the Service and Leadership Award annually since the 2017-18 academic year. Each member institution honors a student-athlete who consistently engages in service and leadership activities that impact the campus, community, or regional levels. Award recipients embrace leadership opportunities, seek innovative ways to serve others, and create meaningful change while maintaining academic success and eligibility in competition.
