Scouting #43 UC Santa Barbara
UCSB (10-8, 4-0) sits at second in the Big West standings, just under Cal Poly. The Gauchos have enjoyed a quality dual match season in 2025-26, particularly in conference play. Before taking on UCI, UCSB will play a crucial match in La Jolla against UC San Diego, who sits one match back of UC Irvine in the Big West standings. Notably, UC Santa Barbara defeated #73 Hawai'i in Santa Barbara on Apr. 4, winning 7-0 after UC Irvine took down the Rainbow Wahine earlier in the season.
UCSB is led by Emma Tutoveanu, who has played at the top four spots in the lineup during singles play in 2025-26, going an impressive 9-0 on the fourth line. Tutoveanu is 12-3 overall in dual match play this season.
UCI and UCSB are scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. first serve on Saturday (Apr. 11).
Scouting #73 Cal Poly
Leading the Big West standings headed into the home stretch of the season, Cal Poly (10-7, 5-0) will prove to be another tough conference test for UC Irvine on the Anteaters' Senior Day. The Mustangs have also defeated Hawai'i, as well as taking home another ranked conference win against #64 Long Beach State in 2025-26.Â
Cal Poly will enter Sunday's match against UC Irvine after taking on Cal State Fullerton on the road on Friday (Apr. 10). First serve against the Mustangs is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
