IRVINE, Calif. – Falling 5-2 at UC San Diego, UC Irvine women's tennis (12-9, 3-6) closed its regular season with a loss on Sunday.
UCI dropped the opening doubles point with a loss, falling in two of the three doubles matches to open the day. Despite the early deficit, the Anteaters claimed a victory on the No. 1 line with the senior pair of Carolyna Fowler and Amanda Perez — the pair's eighth win in doubles together in the 2026 dual match season.
In singles play, UCI picked up two victories from Yen Nhi Huynh and Bella Pitchford on the No. 1 line and No. 5 lines, respectively. However, losses throughout the rest of the lineup closed out UC Irvine's regular season with a defeat, putting its final record at 12-9 overall and 3-6 in Big West play.
UCI now enters the Big West Championship as the No. 7 seed, slated to take on No. 6 Cal State Northridge in the championship's first round.Â
