Anteaters Head to Los Angeles to Take on Occidental Thursday

IRVINE, Calif. — UC Irvine women's tennis (4-4, 0-2) will head to Los Angeles to take on Occidental (1-5, 0-1) for its sole match of the week on Thursday (Feb. 26).

Notes

  • UC Irvine enters play against the Tigers after sweeping its weekend 2-0 against Portland and Pacific, respectively

  • UCI will play a 22-match slate in 2026, with eight matches being on the road. Its trip to Occidental will be its fifth road match of the season

  • Junior Bella Pitchford is on a hot streak for the Anteaters after winning all four matches she played in over the weekend, winning a pair of singles and two doubles to help UCI defeat Portland and Pacific

Scouting Occidental

Occidental will take on UC Irvine after enduring a five-match losing streak despite winning its first dual of the season. The Tigers' last match was a home loss (7-0) against Pomona-Pitzer, a familiar foe to the Anteaters.

Occidental's sole win came against San Diego City College, where sophomore Greta Nagy won both of her No. 1 line matchups in doubles and singles to boost the Tigers to a victory.
