IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine couldn't get the offense going in a 3-0 loss to Penn in the final game of the Anteater Classic at the Bren Events Center.

UCI, who evens its record to 3-3, hit just .017 (23-21-121) to help the Quakers sweep the Anteaters 25-11, 25-11, 25-13.

Penn hit .318 (43-9-107) and held a 68-45 advantage in digs and 7-2 in aces.

Senior Kendra Duffey once again led UCI, tallying five kills and two blocks, one solo.

Duffey and libero Campbell Jensen were named to the all-tournament team. Duffey led UCI in kills each day of the tournament, while Jensen totaled 45 digs over the three matches, including 14 today.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Setter Nicole Feliciano recorded four kills, 14 set assists and three digs
>Middle blocker Sydnee Rowe matched her season-best with four kills
>Outside hitter Kendra MacDonald, opposite Lois Hansen and middle blocker Ally Bolden each recorded two kills
>Madison Triplett added eight digs
>Penn (2-1) was led by Jenna Garner's 14 kills, hitting .462. She also had 12 digs

FIRST SET
>UCI started slow with four attack errors and a receiving error plus a Quaker kill to help Penn to a 6-0 start
>UCI got back in the set quickly on a kill by Kendra MacDonald, a behind the head dump by Nicole Feliciano and a Penn attack into the net, 3-6
>Following a kill, three more UCI attack errors pushed the Penn lead to 10-3
>A 4-1 run by Penn, three on kills, put the Quakers on top 15-6 at the media timeout
>Feliciano went over on two then a solo block by Kendra Duffey helped spark the Anteaters, 9-16
>Penn would out-score UCI 8-1 to end the set, 25-11

SECOND SET
>Penn rattled off six straight to open a 9-2 gap
>A kill by Sydnee Rowe and an ace by Campbell Jensen stopped the streak, 4-9
>Feliciano took a swing for a kill (8-16) then popped over an overpass to the deep corner for a kill to make it 9-17
>Penn scored eight of the last 10 points, cruising to a 25-10 victory

THIRD SET
>UCI started the set with a kill then Penn scored four in a row, three on kills
>A kill by Emma Napoleon, a Penn attack error and an ace by Angelina Dellutri narrowed the margin, 5-7
>The Quakers responded with the next five, two on aces, to move back out to a 12-5 lead
>Two Penn errors, one on a block by Duffey and Ally Bolden made it 8-13
>Penn State closed out the match with the final six points, two on aces, 25-13

NOTES
>UCI had a season-low three blocks and was out-blocked for the first time this season
>Duffey recorded a solo block in each match this weekend
>Izzy Romero recorded her first collegiate kill in the third set
