Zharia Taylor will represent UC Irvine at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 11-14.

The top-12 finishers in each individual and relay event at last week's NCAA first round sites held in College Station, Texas, and Jacksonville, Florida, qualified for nationals.

Zharia Taylor tied for ninth in the women's high jump to punch her ticket to Eugene. Taylor, who was seeded 33rd in her NCAA West First Round debut, did not miss at her first three heights. Her third and final clearance of the competition was a personal-record 1.81 meters (5-11.25), which ranks second in school history. Taylor is the Anteaters' first NCAA Championship qualifier on the women's side since 2009.

In his fourth career NCAA West First Round meet,
Liam Miksic earned his first trip to nationals in the men's javelin. On the second of his three attempts, Miksic moved up to 10th in the standings with a toss of 68.57m (224-11), and that mark held through the final round as the 12th-best of the day. The school record holder and three-time Big West champion is UCI's first NCAA qualifier in the men's javelin. This also marks the second year in a row the 'Eaters will be represented on the national stage as
Josh Farmer made his third career NCAA Championship appearance in the decathlon in 2024.
