LONG BEACH, Calif. - Jolie Robinson claimed runner-up honors, while
Jazzmine Davis finished fifth in the Big West heptathlon Saturday at Jack Rose Track.

Both Anteaters closed out the two-day meet with personal records. Robinson racked up 5,524 points, which ranks second among UC Irvine's all-time leaders and is just 25 points shy of Hall of Famer Lauren Collins' school record (5,549). Davis registered a total of 5,368 points to move up to No. 3 in program history.

Robinson started the day with a best of 5.61 meters (18-5) in the long jump. She then beat out the field by nearly 16 feet in the javelin. Robinson opened the competition with a toss of 41.85m (137-3), which stood as the top mark of the meet. In the seventh and final event of the heptathlon, Robinson clocked an 800m time of 2:23.22.

Davis had her best long jump effort on her third and final attempt where she reached 5.71m (18-8.75). She then had the fifth-best throw of the meet in the javelin with a mark of 35.15m (115-4). Davis wrapped up the afternoon with an impressive performance in the 800m where she crossed the finish line in a five-second PR of 2:19.05.

UC Irvine women's track & field will enter next weekend's Big West Championships (May 16-17) with 12 points, sitting just three behind host and early leader Long Beach State.
