SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Anteaters fall to No. 52 Cal Poly, 6-1, on the road Sunday afternoon.
 
The Mustangs (18-3, 7-1 Big West) quickly built their momentum in doubles action with a 6-1 win on court one. Both the remaining matches were grinding it out until Cal Poly was able to force a 6-4 victory at court three for the doubles point. Amanda Perez and Maily Huynh were doing all that they could to keep UC Irvine (10-10, 1-6 Big West) alive in the doubles action, but ended tied 5-5 against Peyton Dunkle and Amy Leather on the second court.
 
Cal Poly pulled away with three straight individual wins, the first at No. 1 (6-1, 6-1), next at No. 5 (6-1, 6-0), and followed with a 6-1, 6-2 result at No. 3 to clinch the match. Two more results went the way of the Mustangs with the match on court six ending fifth as Bella Pitchford forced Natalie Lynch to go one more point in the first set, 7-5, before falling 6-1 in the second. Haily Huynh, who has been the driving force for the Anteaters this weekend, pulled out the 7-5, 4-6, 10-3 win at No. 4 for UCI's only point of the match. H. Huynh remains an unblemished 7-0 at the No. 4 spot this season and improves to 5-2 overall against conference opponents.
