RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The 45th-ranked UC Irvine men's tennis team picked up a 6-1 Big West win over UC Riverside Tuesday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Courts.

The Anteaters improved to 12-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

UCI earned a couple hard-fought doubles victories to take the early 1-0 lead.
Andy Nguyen and
Noah Zamora started the afternoon with a 6-4 triumph over Justin Lamy/Ryan Huynh at the top of the lineup.
Sohrob Amiryavari and
Rithvik Krishna then closed out a 7-5 win over Lucas Mszyca/Alexey Efremov, 7-5, at No. 3.

In singles, No. 59
Noah Zamora took down Lamy, 6-4, 6-4, on court one to remain unbeaten in his last 25 Big West matches. Zamora, a fourth-year senior, is 20-1 in his Big West career with his only loss coming back on April 3, 2022.

Andy Nguyen also picked up his team-leading 11th dual-match victory of the season as he defeated Aarav Sane, 6-1, 7-6 (5) at the second position.

Ruining Huang dispatched Lucas Ibarrando Suarez, 6-2, 6-1, in his first appearance at No. 3 since March 4.
Sohrob Amiryavari also upended Mszyca, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 4, while
Max Fardanesh beat Efremov, 6-1, 6-3, at the fifth spot. Huang, Amiryavari and Fardanesh all improved to 2-0 in Big West play.

UC Riverside (2-13, 0-2 Big West) earned its lone point at No. 6 singles.

UC Irvine will be back in action on Sunday, April 6, when it heads to Cal Poly for an 11 a.m. Big West showdown.
