Anteaters in Fifth After Opening Round of UCSD Invitational

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC Irvine men's golf team sits among the top-five after Sunday's opening round of the UC San Diego Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course.
The Anteaters combined for a 5-count-4 total of 304 (+16). They are fifth out of 20, and are five strokes back of co-leaders New Mexico State and CSUN.
Freshman Jack Yu leads the 'Eaters in a tie for eighth. Yu had three birdies, coming in at 2-over 74.
Sophomore Jason Tang and freshman Owen Davis-Piger both carded a 76 (+4) to tie for 19th. Junior Rei Harashima is also tied for 42nd with a 78.
UCI returns to Torrey Pines South Course for the second round of the UC San Diego Invitational Monday at 1 p.m.
