IRVINE, Calif. – Outside hitter Madison Triplett tied her career-high in kills to lead UC Irvine to a sweep of UC Riverside (25-13, 25-18, 25-18) Saturday at the Bren Events Center.

After a lackluster offensive performance yesterday, the Anteaters bounced back with a .301 showing (42-8-113) versus the Highlanders, the second best mark of the season.

Triplett tied her career-best with a team-high 14 kills. She recorded her third career double-double with 14 digs, while adding two block assists and an ace in the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Outside hitter Kendra Duffey followed Triplett with 11 kills to go with six digs and two block assists
>Opposite Lois Hansen totaled eight kills, while hitting .412 (8-1-17) to go with five block assists
>Middle blocker Sydnee Rowe put down six kills and rejected seven total blocks (1 solo)
>Setter Nicole Feliciano recorded 32 set assists and 10 digs, her 11^th double-double of 2025
>Libero Campbell Jensen had 19 digs and four set assists
>Emma Napoleon had a career-high three aces to lead the Anteaters in a 5-4 advantage from the service line
>Middle blocker Ally Bolden added four block assists to UCI's 11 for the night. The Anteaters out-blocked UCR 11-3
>The Highlanders hit .092 (33-22-120) and were led by Sophia Ewalefo's match-high 15 kills

FIRST SET
>A kill by Sydnee Rowe started a 5-0 run which included kills by Madison Triplett and Lois Hansen and two Highlander errors, 5-1
>A block by Nicole Feliciano and Ally Bolden was followed by an ace by Triplett to put the Anteaters up 11-4
> Back-to-back aces by Emma Napoleon extended the margin to 14-7
>UCI would hold a 23-12 lead after consecutive kills by Triplett and three straight UCR errors, the last courtesy of a block by Triplett and Bolden
>Izzy Romero would end the set with an ace, 25-13

SECOND SET
>Back-to-back blocks, both assisted by Rowe gave the Anteaters the 13-7 advantage
>Consecutive aces by the Highlanders made it 11-15 then three straight kills brought UCR within 16-18
>Kills by Triplett and Hansen were followed by a Highlander error to place UCI at set point, 24-17
>After a UCR kill, Rowe and Hansen returned an attempt back down to the floor for a 25-18 victory

THIRD SET
>UCI held a 6-4 lead then used three kills by Triplett another from Kendra Duffey and an UCR attack error to move out 11-4
>Three in a row, including an ace inched UCR closer, 8-13
>After UCR went on a 4-1 run, UCI had back-to-back blocks both assisted by Hansen, to go up 22-14
>A kill by Duffey ended the set 25-18 and match 3-0

NOTES
>This is UCI's eighth sweep of the season
>Izzy Romero has recorded an ace in six matches this season
