IRVINE, Calif. --- The Bren Events Center recently celebrated its 38th anniversary since opening in 1987, and since the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, has seen an array of upgrades that were completed to enhance the experience of the student-athletes, fans, and UC Irvine Athletics community.
The Bren Events Center crew spearheaded by
Danny Spitzer and
Melissa Ramos are proud to showcase the following upgrades:
- Daktronics LED Scoreboard & Video wall, LED ribbon boards, and LED ad tables
- Arena Floor replacement complete with new basketball court and UC Irvine Athletics branding
- Major renovation and equipment upgrades to the East Concessions including new menu options provided by Aramark that include flatbread pizzas, ICEEs, movie-theatre grade butter for popcorn
- New paint and UC Irvine Athletics branding to both the East Lobby and West Lobby concourses and in the Koll Room Hospitality Suite
- Upgraded TV installation in East Lobby areas
- North Telescopic Seating improvements providing the ability to implement a new social space courtside for select games in the 2024-25 season
The upgrades come as the basketball season heads into its home stretch with 16 remaining home contests in the 2024-25 season and in time for the beginning of the men's volleyball season with eight matches played in the Bren.
