IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine women's soccer fell Sunday afternoon 3-0 in Anteater Stadium to Arizona.

• Minimal chances came early for either side before the first goal in the 35^th minute.
  • A long feed into the box hit Nicole Dallin who bodied the ball down to Gianna Christiansen who punched it home from the middle of the box to put Arizona up, 1-0
• Near the end of the half, Jenika Davis subbed into the match for her first minutes since the middle of her freshman season when she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She logged four minutes in the match
• The 'Eaters got a prime chance to level things in the 57^th minute as Emilie Castagna mashed a shot that was turned away by the Wildcat keeper, and a follow-up by Chifumi Sasaki was blocked
• The Wildcats would add to their lead in the 63^rd minute playing off a set piece. A pass from the touch line was shuffled along to Christiansen again ready to knock a shot under the keeper and in to make it 2-0
• A final goal went in on a long-range try from Rose Calkins in the 77^th minute that sailed on the keeper to make it 3-0, Arizona
• Chances were at a premium all match with 11 total shots and seven on frame. Ashley Naylor in goal recorded one save
• In the starting lineup for the first time in her career was freshman Milan Heisdorf

 
The 'Eaters now head out on the road for the next four weeks beginning Thursday, September 5 in their next match at Washington State.
