Seventy-Four Anteaters Earn Big West Spring All-Academic Honors

IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine had 74 student-athletes named to the 2024 Big West Spring All-Academic Team the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Each of the Anteaters' nine sports had at least three representatives on the all-academic list. Track & field led the way as the women had 20 honorees and the men added 14.
Baseball saw eight of its student-athletes earn all-academic recognition, while women's water polo had seven. Men's tennis (6), women's tennis (6), men's volleyball (6), men's golf (4) and women's golf (3) also had multiple award winners.
To be eligible for the Big West All-Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, complete one full year at their member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received (at least a sophomore academically) and compete in at least 50% of their team's contests. Baseball pitchers are exempt from any minimum participation requirements, while track & field student-athletes must have competed in either 50% of their team's regular-season meets or participated in the Big West Championships.
